TLD7002-16ES software design and device driver LED rear light with multichannel linear current source

Infineon’s automotive multichannel LED driver TLD7002-16ES requires special efforts to be correctly handled in software however, the TLD7002-16ES device driver allows the device to start quickly. The particular application use of the TLD7002-16ES is in automotive rear light applications. The software design with TLD7002-16ES and the TLD7002-16ES device driver is described. The TLD7002-16ES device driver ensures high speed lighting interface (HSLI) frame generation, including the setup of the header, all CRC calculations in the transmit functions, and the basic validation of the frames in the receive functions. By using a reduced set of input parameters, the basic functionality of the TLD7002-16ES can be handled via the device driver, for example, by setting the power mode and updating the duty cycles. Therefore, the TLD7002-16ES device driver proves to be a tool for a successful start with TLD7002-16ES enabling the developer to focus on the application itself.
