TLD7002-16ES hardware design example - LED rear light with multichannel linear current source

A state-of-the-art fully animated rear light design is described in this application note. The main focus is to demonstrate how this is implemented to a real automotive solution. One part of an existing rear light design is revamped with TLD7002-16ES (multichannel LED driver) running LED chains (one and two LEDs in series) on low-side TLD7002-16ES outputs on distributed boards. A buck converter with an output configuration of 6.5 V/2.5 A is used as the supply. The TLD7002-16ES is controlled via the high-speed lighting interface (HSLI) which is in general UART over CAN.
