LITIX™ LED drivers deliver flexible and powerful automotive LED driver IC solutions that enable vehicles to benefit from the advantages of LEDs. They provide full protection for lighting systems in automotive applications, e.g. for LED Front Lighting or LED Rear Lighting.
Automotive LED light controllers deliver a constant current regulation for stable brightness over the whole automotive temperature and voltage range. With Infineon LITIX™ LED drivers, you can integrate tailor-made LED driver ICs that protect themselves and the LEDs against overstress caused by, for example, voltage spikes or overtemperature.
Additionally, most devices of the LITIX™ family provide diagnostic features, e.g. of open and shorted LEDs. They offer automotive LED driver systems required to operate vehicle lighting systems across harsh automotive conditions.
The LITIX™ Power and Power Flex families ensure simple integration into a broad range of systems. Designers can choose among buck, boost, buck-boost or SEPIC LED drivers for all vehicle lighting applications.
LITIX™ Power and Power Flex Automotive Buck LED Driver: Buck or step-down DC-DC LED drivers reduce the voltage if required on LED lighting systems. An automotive buck LED driver is often used in interior and rear lighting systems.
LITIX™ Power Automotive Boost LED Driver: Boost or step-up DC-DC LED drivers increase the output voltage to enable long LED strings in vehicles. In particular, automotive boost LED drivers can supply multiple LEDs connected in series.
LITIX™ Power and Power Flex Automotive Buck-Boost LED Driver: Automotive buck-boost LED drivers supply LEDs with varying input voltage either above or below the LED voltage. This means that seamless switching between buck, pass-through, and boost operating modes deliver a highly efficient, well-regulated output despite the wide variations of the input voltage from, for example, lithium-ion power sources.
LITIX™ Power Automotive SEPIC LED Driver: Single-Ended-Primary-Inductance-Converter (SEPIC) LED drivers maintain constant LED current when the LED string voltage is between the load dump and the cold crank voltages. It is one of the possible buck-boost implementations that allows flexible input voltages with a stable output voltage.
The LITIX™ Linear, Basic, and Basic+ families are automotive linear current source devices that secure stable LED current for constant brightness and high reliability light systems. The broad portfolio offers design flexibility to cover all application requirements. They can be found in automotive exterior and interior lights as well as in two-wheeler and in industrial LED lighting applications.
LITIX™ Linear: Single-channel automotive linear current source devices deliver stable current for power applications from 2 mA to 2500 mA. LITIX™ Linear devices offer protection against short circuit, overload and over temperature.
LITIX™ Basic: One or three output channel automotive linear current source devices with scalable feature set that enables high design flexibility depending on the diagnosis requirements. They offer pin-to-pin compatibility.
LITIX™ Basic+: One to three output channel automotive linear current source devices offer state-of-the-art current accuracy. Outstanding integrated PWM engine and Single LED Short diagnosis are key differentiators for reliable applications.

- LITIX™ Linear products provide linear current sources for low, medium and low-cost high-power applications.
- LITIX™ Basic is a flexible linear current source family of automotive LED drivers with scalable feature set and diagnosis.
- LITIX™ Basic+ is an extension of existing LITIX™ Basic with additional features, e.g. the most flexible Single LED Short detection.
- LITIX™ Pixel Rear multi-channel to fulfill the growing demand of animated rear (and front) LED lighting.
- LITIX™ Power products are suited for DC-DC converters and controllers for medium to high-power applications

Infineon offers a reference design for high beam and low beam combination, using the TLD5099EP. This Infineon Reference Design Guide describes a detailed implementation of an automotive frontlight high beam / low beam combination using the flexible multitopoly DC-DC controller TLD5099EP of the LITIX™ Power family in current controlled buck-boost SEPIC configuration.
Infineon automotive-optimized LED drivers address interior and exterior, low-power to high-power automotive LED applications such as: high and low beam, fog, DRL, position, tail, stop, CHMSL, RCL, reverse, turn indicator, dome, ambient lighting, status lamps etc.
For resistor-based LED taillight designs the SPIDER+ LED family offers cost-optimized LED control either on a central BCM or on decentralized electronics. The included diagnostic and protection functions enable the use of the smallest possible wire diameter
It also includes an integrated pulse width modulator to easily implement a dimming function with reduced color shifting and a spread spectrum modulator to improve the EMI performance. It is designed to support fixed current and fixed voltage configurations in multiple topologies such as Boost, Buck, Buck-Boost, SEPIC and Flyback by simply adjusting the external components. The TLD5099EP drives a low side n-channel power MOSFET from an internal 5 V linear regulator.

The H-Bridge architecture is among the most efficient buck-boost topology for high current applications. The device can work in current mode (E.G. LED driver, battery charger) or as a voltage regulator. Capable to drive multiple LED functions (E.G. LB, HB, DRL) with a single DC-DC converter for a more compact and efficient design.
