Solutions for LED control, supply, and communication
Full LED headlamps contain ECUs with multiple channels driving all light functions of the headlamp. Therefore they integrate power stages as well as communication interfaces and microcontrollers. Infineon offers dedicated solutions for supply and communication as well as for LED control:
- LED Drivers ICs:
LITIX™ Power / Power Flex - Our boost and buck-boost control ICs are proven and robust solutions for many years for compact and efficient DC-DC converters. Our synchronous buck and buck-boost controllers enable high-performance converters for high LED currents. - MOSFETs:
Infineon offers a full-blown portfolio of 60 V, 80 V, and 100 V OptiMOS™ 5/6/7 Automotive MOSFETs for wide RDSonranges in leadless 3x3 S3O8, 5x6 SSO8 packages. The combination with the OptiMOS™ T2 5x6 DualSSO8 portfolio enables to find the right fit device for the DC-DC converter as well as for the reverse polarity protection. - Microcontrollers:

- Lighting applications are changing and there is the demand of more sophisticated pixel light sources. The new light sources need a different approach on the power supply and TLD5501-2QV covers the gap with the existing architectures. Moreover the TLD5501-2QV is also the preferred solutions for high intensity LED or Laser used in premium.
- To promote the device two evaluation boards are available. The device has been also included into DC-DC designer to reduce the design-in phase. Low level drivers are available to reduce the coding effort.
The TLD6098-2DPVB2G evaluation board is a dual-phase boost-to-ground switching power supply, which, under nominal conditions, can deliver a constant voltage of 43-52 V and a current of up to 7A.
