A wide range of applications

Efficient semiconductors from Infineon reduce energy consumption and improve the performance of electrical devices. Our chips control the growing traffic, make it safer and reduce traffic load. They increase productivity in agriculture and help people to live independently even in later life.

Energy-efficient production

The production of semiconductors requires a high energy input. Energy-efficient production is therefore of crucial importance to us. At the Infineon Dresden site, we manage to save a considerable amount of the total energy requirement each year through advanced energy recovery systems. These include the use of waste heat from exhaust air and water recirculation systems. At the same time, this all helps to protect our environment, minimizing our ecological footprint.

In the Smart Power Fab, we want to achieve an energy recovery rate of around 40 percent and use water as resource-efficiently as possible in accordance with the latest standards. The Smart Power Fab will also be the first Infineon factory to receive LEED certification. LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) means that commercial and residential buildings are sustainable, highly efficient and cost-saving in their use. Our new factory building in Dresden is therefore in line with the Group's goal of being CO2-neutral by 2030.

We pay attention to the careful use of natural resources and solve important social challenges such as efficient energy use, environmentally friendly mobility and security in a networked world.

Strict regulations

We comply with the strict regulations of the integrated management system (IMPRES) for environmental protection, energy, occupational health and safety in accordance with ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 45001.

We are also a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA). The RBA Code of Conduct sets standards to ensure that working conditions in supply chains are safe and that business is conducted responsibly, ethically and in respect of human rights, among other things.

Our business activities are based on strict compliance with official permits and environmental regulations. The relevant permits and certificates can be viewed on our website.

Regular official inspections and independent experts confirm the very high level of our safety standards. In this way, we can now, as far as is humanly possible, rule out incidents that could pose a health hazard to you. You can find out more in the flyer Important information for our neighbors.  

The Landesamt für Umwelt, Landwirtschaft und Geologie (LfULG) publishes the date and result of the on-site inspections that have taken place on the Plant Safety and Major Accidents Prevention.
