About

Contactless is often how we pay today. It’s fast, convenient and secured, becoming an experience that every modern wearable, e.g. smart ring, fitness band and smart watch needs to provide. With up to 4 billion NFC-enabled devices expected by 2030, including up to 700 million wearables, the demand for secured contactless payment is growing rapidly.  The wearable payment device market is projected to grow at an average of 21% every year by 2032 (Source: GMI and Juniper Research).
Infineon’s SECORA™ one-stop-shop for wearable payments enables active wearables to become secured payment devices certified by Visa® and Mastercard® and accepted at contactless POS terminals worldwide, without the need for a phone or digital wallet. SECORA™ Connect X is a highly secured, energy-efficient solution for smart wearables, SECORA™ Wallet and SECORA™ Token Requestor, integrated with Mastercard® (MDES) and Visa® (VTS), enable card digitization and the creation of a white-label wallet app. Together, these powerful security solutions help accelerate time-to-market through seamless integration and certification, while delivering flexible design options and secured payment functionality for active wearables.

SECORA™ Connect X is a highly efficient and secured payment solution for smart wearables, including smart rings, sports watches, and fitness trackers. The solution features a Secure Element that enables contactless payments with Mastercard®, Visa®, and many other NFC applications, with payment credentials securely stored on the chip, not in the cloud. As the smallest NFC payment card emulation device on the market, SECORA™ Connect X provides extremely low power consumption for longer battery life and lower costs thanks to fewer external electronic components. Its compact design fits into practically any wearable design, regardless of size, shape, or material. Java Card and GlobalPlatform standards support seamless integration through comprehensive development tools, while pre-certified applets and ~1 MB of memory allow developers to create custom NFC- and Bluetooth-enabled applications.

A Token Requestor is connected directly with payment networks such as Mastercard® or Visa® to request and manage payment tokens, removing Primary Account Numbers (PANs) from the payment chain for added security. This allows a simple and secured tokenization and provisioning of the card on to a Secure Element based smart wearable. Cardholders can use the payment wearable with worldwide acceptance at all contactless POS terminals, without the need for a phone or digital wallet. Next to it a white-label software development kit (SDK) which allows full branding flexibility and frictionless integration is required. It can provide a seamless development of the customers wallet applications for smartphones or integrate wallet functionality into their existing apps. Supporting both iOS and Android devices, is key to enable wide accessibility for end users. SECORA™ Wallet and SECORA™ Token Requestor integrated to Mastercard® (MDES) and Visa® (VTS) enable customers with the tokenization of cards and the creation of an own branded wallet app.
