About

MOTIX™ BTNxx single half-bridge IC is a smart low-ohmic, protected half-bridge in a single package. The product has the capability to switch high frequency PWM while providing overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature protection. It offers cost-optimized solutions for protected high-current PWM motor drives with very low board-space consumption scaled to your needs.

MOTIX™ TLE94xyz multi half-bridge ICs are pin- and software-compatible and consequently offer high flexibility and reduced design-in effort. Reduced system cost and small PCB footprint (up to 85% smaller footprint) are achieved by the integration of multiple drivers and power stages (up to 12 half-bridges) in one device as well as through the feature optimization allowing to reduce external components.

MOTIX™ TLE9166EQ for door control offers a versatile solution for door control modules, featuring 6 half-bridges with inrush current management, 25 kHz PWM, configurable slew rate, 6 high-side switches (one configurable as high-side or LDO), 1 LDO for off-board sensors, and 2 gate drivers for electrochromic mirrors and heaters. The device is optimized for use with MOTIX™ TLE956x motor system ICs (SBC).

The MOTIX™ full-bridge ICs provide space savings and optimized diagnostic and protection as for example overtemperature (OT), overcurrent (OV) and short circuit (SC) protection. Infineon offers dedicated devices for automotive applications that are qualified according to AEC-Q100:

BTM90xx full-bridge ICs are ISO 26262-ready and represent a cost-optimized product family of four variants that can be selected based on various application targets. They scale from current limit of minimum 10 A – 20 A. The two SPI variants, BTM9011EP and BTM9021EP, additionally support daisy chain operation.

For industrial applications such as home appliances and building automation, power tools battery management and medical applications the MOTIX™ IFX9201SG is the right fit. There is flexibility between choosing SPI for detailed diagnostic or simple error flag.

Bridge drivers with MOSFETs are used in various automotive motor control applications, including body systems, thermal management, and chassis and safety applications. Each product family offers specific features for its target applications:

The many protection and diagnosis features of the MOTIX™ single half-bridge devices make them ideal for applications like electronic parking brake, active suspension control. Due to their durability and ease-of-use these devices are also ideal for electronic seatbelt pre-tensioners, T-Case, HVAC control module.

MOTIX™ TLE94xyz multi half-bridge ICs are a perfect solution for HVAC flap control, mirror adjustment and lighting and can also drive other inductive, capacitive, and resistive loads, including relays and bipolar stepper motors.

The MOTIX™ TLE9166 for door control is suited for door locks, safe locks, mirror fold and adjustment, mirror heating, electrochromic mirrors, incandescent bulbs, and LEDs.

Our cutting-edge MOTIX™ BTM9010/11 and BTM9020/21 series can drive inductive or resistive loads. Typical application examples are door modules (i.e. door lock, e-charging lid) or the body and zone control modules.

The MOTIX™ IFX007T is an integrated high-current half-bridge for motor drive applications. It contains one p-channel high-side MOSFET, one n-channel low-side MOSFET and a driver IC – all integrated into a single package.

Target applications are industrial & consumer motor drives for automation, home appliances, robotics, and medical applications, for example power tools, small robotics, drones, vacuum cleaners, medical motors, 3D printers, fans, pumps, and many more.

MOTIX™ IFX9201SG is a general purpose 6 A H-bridge. It is designed for the control of small DC motors and inductive loads in applications such as:

  • DC motor control for industrial applications
  • Home and building automation
  • Power tools battery management

The ISO 26262-ready marking designates QM products that can – with additional analysis and evaluation support from Infineon – be integrated into a customer’s ISO 26262 compliant, safety-related application, even though they have not been designed or developed according to the ISO 26262 standards.

Infineon provides a Safety Application Note (SAN) for ISO 26262-ready devices that are designed to aid the customer through the evaluation process. This important document also contains valuable information to support the integration of the component into the customer’s safety-related system. Although it remains the customer’s responsibility to evaluate whether the product details are suitable and sufficient to support the integration within an ISO 26262 compliant system, the information provided in the SAN will significantly reduce the required effort.

Whether a product is QM device, ISO 26262 compliant or ready is indicated in the product tables and on the product pages.
