Overview

Infineon's linear LED driver ICs are the best choice for driving LED strings supplied by a DC voltage source in typical commercial lighting applications such as signage and LED strips but also automotive interior lights, emergency and multi-channel applications. The new-gen BCR430U and BCR431U feature an extra-low voltage drop which is ideal in cases where the supply voltage and forward voltage are very close together and voltage headroom is required. 

Using linear constant-current LED driver ICs enables more design flexibility in applications with more LEDs on one strip and longer LED strips. Fewer feeding points are needed and costs can be saved in the overall system.

Infineon’s linear constant current LED drivers only require few very small components and so are suitable for compact PCB designs with limited space. The BCR regulators drive currents from 10mA to 250mA, making them the ideal solution for low- and mid-power LEDs. For high-power LEDs, the linear constant-current LED controller IC in combination with an external power stage allows for high design flexibility.
