About

Infineon´s low-side smart power switches portfolio consists of two main product families: Classic HITFET™ and HITFET™ + for 12 V and 24 V automotive and industrial applications. The HITFET™ (Highly Integrated Temperature-protected FET) family is Infineon's solution for smart low-side power switches. Built-in intelligent protective features offer protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, short-circuit, overtemperature, and electrostatic discharge (ESD). The Classic HITFET™ offers high energy capability with RDS(on) range down to 8 mΩ. The HITFET™ + family comes in smaller package sizes with well-balanced short-circuit robustness, and power dissipation in high-speed PWM applications and diagnosis.

Classic HITFET™ 12V is the established low-side switches family for automotive and industrial applications. Thanks to their proven technology, the reliable devices are the right solution for applications that require high robustness and energy capability. The family consists of single and dual-channel switches from 8 mΩ to 900 mΩ in three different packages: TO252, SOT223, and DSO-8.

Classic HITFET™ 24V is the established low-side switches family for transportation, commercial, construction and agricultural vehicles (CAV), and industrial applications in harsh environments. The scalable single and dual-channel devices are available from 18 mΩ to 490 mΩ in TO252, SOT223, and DSO-8 packages.

HITFET™ + 12V is Infineon’s latest generation of highly-integrated temperature-protected switches for automotive and industrial applications. The novel technology results in a significant reduction in package size (of up to 50 percent) compared to the existing Classic HITFET™ 12V portfolio. HITFET™ + 12V devices provide design flexibility because of their package concept and feature options. The family consists of standard and fully featured low-side switches scaling from 11 mΩ to 110 mΩ in two different packages: TO-252 and TDSO-8. These devices are able to switch resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads.

HITFET™ + 24V family is targeting higher voltage supply systems in transportation, commercial, construction and agricultural vehicles (CAV), and industrial systems. The smart low-side switch comes in a TDSO-8 package, which is up to five times smaller than the market standard, thus paving the way for cost and PCB-space savings. A status pin enables the microcontroller to detect and diagnose failures faster. HITFET™ + 24V is capable of driving PWM signals of up to 20 kHz. The 24 V family is an ideal switch for braking, transmission, and compressor systems in 24 V CAV vehicles.

TEMPFET™ are temperature-protected low-side switches and provide a basic level of protection via their integrated temperature sensor for 12 V and 24 V automotive and industrial applications. The sensor is available on external pins to enable fast switching and flexible temperature response control. This family, which has been established in the market for almost 30 years, is not intended now for new designs. Alternative products are low-side power switches from the Classic HITFET™ and HITFET™ + family.
