About

The iMOTION™ Motor Control Engine (MCE) lies at the heart of all iMOTION™ products, streamlining customer development by providing integrated, ready-to-use motor control algorithms and production-grade software. Leveraging Field Oriented Control (FOC) and space vector PWM techniques, the MCE ensures peak energy efficiency through the deployment of sinusoidal signals.

With an integrated state machine handler encompassing fault states and an array of safeguards including over- and under-voltage protection, over current detection, and rotor lock prevention, the MCE acts as a shield for both the motor and power stage. Operating in either sensorless mode or with sensor support, such as analog or digital hall sensors, the MCE's versatility is further enhanced by its configurable nature and scripting engine, facilitating a range of applications.

The MCE, alongside all iMOTION™ devices, meets functional safety requirements according to UL/IEC 60730 ('class B'). Empowered by tools like the iMOTION™ Solution Designer, configuring the MCE for specific motors in variable speed drive applications becomes straightforward, significantly reducing implementation efforts while maintaining performance and reliability.
