About

Infineon offers solutions along the entire power flow in edge computing and edge processing - from AC power input down to the CPU. Catering to sophisticated power management features of edge servers, our devices optimize energy usage and performance by adjusting power to different workload demands. From power factor correction (PFC) circuitry over main and auxiliary power supply units to voltage regulation, our topologies and devices ensure stable system performance. Our portfolio includes:

  • XDP™ digital multiphase controllers
  • OptiMOS™ high density dual-phase power modules
  • OptiMOS™ and CoolSET™ integrated power stages
  • OptiMOS™ integrated PoL voltage regulators
  • OptiMOS™ low- and mid-voltage MOSFETs
  • CoolMOS™ superjunction HV MOSFETs
  • CoolSiC™ SiC HV MOSFETs
  • CoolGaN™ HEMTs
  • EiceDRIVER™ gate driver ICs
  • XMC™ industrial microcontrollers

AC-DC power systems are critical for reliable and efficient edge server operation. They ensure that edge servers receive stable power from the grid while efficiently distributing it to the various components within the server system. At Infineon, we offer total power solutions for both voltage regulation on server main boards and SMPS which includes PFC, PWM, SR + ORing stage.

The solutions for the PFC stage include traditional PFC and bridgeless PFC topologies, featuring products such as:

  • 600 V and 650 V CoolMOS™, CoolSiC™, and CoolGaN™ devices  and SiC diodes
  • Non-isolated as well as functional-isolated EiceDRIVER™ gate driver ICs
  • Digital control with XMC™ industrial microcontrollers on the primary side

For  PWM + SR + ORing stage, our lineup covers soft- and hard-switching LLC, ZCS FB, and TTF topologies, including products such as:

  • 600 V and 650 V CoolMOS™, CoolSiC™, and CoolGaN™ devices
  • OptiMOS™ and medium-voltage CoolGaN™ (40 V~150 V) devices
  • Non-isolated, functional- and reinforced-isolated EiceDRIVER™ gate driver ICs
  • Digital control with XMC™ industrial microcontrollers on the secondary side

The CPU and other sensitive components might require different voltage levels for optimal operation; hence voltage regulation is critical to prevent voltage fluctuations that could damage sensitive components or cause system instability. Our selection of OptiMOS™ integrated PoL voltage regulators offer the industry-best voltage mode and COT control engines. The devices offer superior efficiency and are VR14-compliant with PMBus support. On top of that, Infineon OptiMOS™ high density dual-phase power modules at 180 and 160 A are geared for vertical power delivery (VPD) and showcase high current density, and benchmark electrical and thermal efficiencies.
