About

The Infineon Solid State Relay (SSR) portfolio delivers highly integrated SSR modules that unify galvanic isolation, gate driving, protections, and power MOSFET switching within a single, robust component. By leveraging advanced coreless transformer technology for the isolation barrier, these solutions optimize board space and design complexity.

The output stage integrates CoolMOS™ MOSFETs, alongside protection circuits such as fast overcurrent and over-temperature. This integration facilitates the development of safe, reliable switching systems with minimal external component count. Specific variants within this family are engineered for high-efficiency applications, providing precise fault indication and diagnostic capabilities to support cost-effective system architecture.

The input interface is compatible with standard 3.3 V, 5 V logic levels as well as higher voltages. These devices are offered in space-saving PG-DSO-22-3 package.

Infineon’s integrated Solid State Relays provide a complete, integrated relay solution that supersedes the need for discrete drivers, isolators, isolated gate supply, and power MOSFETs. Utilizing coreless transformer technology, the integrated SSR guarantees full galvanic isolation between the control and power stages without requiring external isolation components. In contrast to electromechanical relays (EMRs), Infineon’s integrated SSRs offer a compact form factor with reduced power consumption, long operational life, bounce-free operation, and silent performance. These devices are inherently resilient against mechanical shock and vibration, and maintain stable on-resistance (RDS(on)) throughout their operational lifespan. Furthermore, their positional insensitivity and spark-free operation ensure enhanced safety and reliability in hazardous or sensitive environments.

As an integrated relay solution, the Infineon  Solid State Relays serves as a replacement for electromechanical relays, reed relays, photovoltaic relays and complex discrete solid state relay circuits across various applications. These coreless transformer-based relay solutions are used in a wide variety of applications including, but not limited to, battery management systems (BMS), solid state relay modules, switched-mode power supplies, power distribution units, process control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automatic test equipment (ATE), industrial automation, robotics, precision instrumentation, smart lighting controls, home appliances (such as washing machines and dryers), and smart home infrastructure. Infineon’s SSRs are also ideal for renewable energy inverters and data center power infrastructure, providing a reliable, space-efficient, and integrable solution for modern power control challenges.
