About Infineon PROFET™ 48V high-side smart power switches

Infineon’s 48 V high-side smart power switch portfolio offers advanced solutions tailored for electric and mild hybrid vehicles to support automotive zone, body, and battery management systems, as well as industrial applications and robotics.

The PROFET™ + 48V family consist of single, dual, and quad-   channel devices, enabling PCB design flexibility and cost savings. Supporting a wide RDS(on) range (35–200 mΩ) and load dump protection up to 65 V,  the kILIS diagnostic accuracy, and ISO 26262-ready devices facilitates the use in safety-related applications 

Complementing this, the Power PROFET™ + family features ultra-low RDS(on) options (down to 0.6 mΩ) for high-current loads up to 60 A, making it ideal for power distribution and switching high power loads up to 2,5 kW. 

With state-of-the-art protection, precision diagnostics, and excellent energy efficiency, Infineon’s 48 V portfolio is engineered to meet the demands of modern automotive and industrial systems.

Why to choose Infineon’s 48 V high‑side switches

Infineon's 48 V high-side switch families offer a variety of products in different versions to cover the different requirements in 48 V applications. The portfolio is scalable in terms of channels, current and functionality. These families allow to switch loads with very low power ratings up to several kW and offering a load dump protection up to 65 V. 

Some devices have adjustable current limitation, which allows to adapt the protection to the connected load. This enables to charge larger capacitive loads or protect the connected wire. Those products are ISO 26262-ready and thus enable use in functional safety applications. This suite allows the user to select the right smart power switch or gate driver IC for a specific load using one of the “Finder & Selection” tools. Together with the different “Simulation & Modeling” tools, various application scenarios can be simulated for the respective product. The results can be document in the report tool and verified with the “Configuration” tools plus the corresponding evaluation boards.
