Overview

MOTIX™ motor gate driver ICs enable efficient and reliable BDC and BLDC motor control in many automotive applications. Typical use cases include the body control module as well as comfort and convenience applications, such as seat control and closure systems. MOTIX™ products with ISO 26262 compliance up to ASIL D provide the highest safety and performance features for critical systems, including electronic steering and braking.

About

MOTIX™ TLE9210x is a family of BDC gate driver ICs designed to control up to eight half-bridges (up to 16 n-channel MOSFETs) with a single packaged device. The products offer a reliable and cost-optimized solution with state-of-the-art diagnostic and protection features. The unique adaptive MOSFET control concept enables elimination of end-of-line calibration to MOSFET characteristic spreads and guarantees an optimized balancing between power dissipation and EMC behavior.

The TLE92104/8 family of pin and software compatible devices allows motor cascading: with TLE92108 up to 7 motors can be driven in cascaded configuration. The devices are ISO 26262‑ready and an optimal solution for automotive applications like seat, power liftgate control and various use cases in body control modules (BCM), such as centralized door lock or washer pumps.

The new MOTIX™ TLE92102QVW is an advanced BDC gate driver dedicated to control up to four N-channel MOSFETs. It includes one current sense amplifier (CSA) and is compliant to ISO 26262 (ASIL B). TLE92102 is ideal for 12 V and up to ASIL B rated motor drive applications such as seat control, window lift central door lock or body control module.

The demand for efficient and peak-performing electric motors continues to increase year after year. Infineon's MOTIX™ motor system IC (SBC) family offers high integration & performance for brushed DC (BDC) and brushless DC (BLDC) motor control, with optimized system cost. It combines low-dropout regulator, CAN and LIN communication interface and multiple half-bridge MOSFET drivers in a compact 7x7mm package. Infineon’s patented concept of adaptive MOSFET gate drive helps to improve EMC performance, reduce power losses and achieve target switching time.

Many MOTIX™ gate driver ICs use the Infineon patented concept of adaptive MOSFET gate drive. This multi-stage slew rate control enables EMC tuning via SPI, including adjusting the slew rate independently of dead-time and turn-on/turn-off delays. The on-board measurement and self-adaptation of external MOSFET switching times allow for balancing power dissipation versus EMC performance, adjusting for MOSFET lot-to-lot variations, and reducing the need for end-of-line calibration effort.
