About

The XDPP11xx family offers the industry's smallest digital power controllers available with 6 PWM outputs (XDPP1100-Q024, XDPP1140-100B, XDPP1148-100B) in VQFN-24 4x4 package, with 8 PWM outputs (XDPP1188-200B) in VQFN-40 5x5 package, as well as with 12 PWM outputs (XDPP1100-Q040) in VQFN-40 6x6 package.

Additionally, they feature many optimized power-processing blocks and pre-programmed peripherals to enhance the performance of DC-DC conversions, reduce external components, and minimize firmware development effort.

The XDP™ digital controllers also provide accurate telemetry via PMBus® 1.3 interface for system communication and advanced power conversion and monitoring. The integrated current sensing capability and the compact chip size can greatly reduce the solution size by eliminating various external components.

A combination of high-performance AFE, a state-machine based digital control loop, and an Arm® Cortex®-M0 makes the XDPP11xx family a highly integrated, easy-to-configure programmable and fastest time-to-market technology for modern high-end power systems, employed in telecom infrastructure, 48 V server motherboards, datacenter, and industrial 4.0 applications.

  1. Unique state-machine based digital control loop offers the best transient response and DC-DC conversion performance
  2. Configurable firmware features reduces the development efforts and enhances time-to-market
  3. Supports customized firmware features
  4. Smallest 4x4 mm2 package enables very compact system design to achieve high efficiency and high power density

Isolated topologies

Supported topologies are PWM full-bridge, half-bridge, phase-shift full-bridge, as well as interleaved bridge topologies. The secondary can be configured to center-tap, full-bridge or current-doubler. The voltage mode control with flux-balancing offered in the XDPP11xx digital controllers provides robust loop control with excellent pre-bias performance.

Non-isolated topologies

Furthermore, the XDPP11xx family supports Buck, Boost, Buck-boost, 3-level Buck, and interleaved of mentioned non-isolated topologies. It supports all the Infineon proprietary high-efficiency and high-power density IBC topologies such as ZSC, HSC, DR-HSC, SHSC, RHSC. The featured 1.25 ns dead-time resolution enables further efficiency optimization and the state-machine based loop control offers excellent transient response.

LLC topologies

XDPP11xx controllers also support half-bridge, full-bridge and phase-shift full-bridge LLC topologies. The frequency modulation ranges from 100 kHz to 2 MHz. They can drive WBG devices (GaN) in high-frequency applications. A light load control including burst and phase-shift extends the regulation range of the XDPP11xx digital controller family.
