About

Together with robust design implementation and AEC-Q100 grade package, voltage trackers are a perfect solution to protect sensors and ECUs in harsh environments. Additionally, voltage output monitoring diagnostics is available on some products. This enables an easier and faster way to detect an overvoltage or undervoltage condition and react accordingly to record such events.

Examples of typical fault conditions handled efficiently with Infineon's voltage trackers:

In case of a short-circuit to GND on the external wire, the current flowing through the power stage is limited by the current limitation circuitry. This limits the stress condition on primary supply and protects ECUs from  overload.

In case of a short-circuit to the battery voltage on the wire, the voltage tracker is in reverse polarity condition. The reverse current through the tracker is limited by reverse polarity protection. Therefore, ECUs are protected from damage.

OPTIREG™ linear trackers are used to supply sensors in applications such as EPS, transmission, HVAC, to name a few. Voltage tracker products supply various use cases of sensors: analog, digital, off-board, and onboard sensors.
