At Infineon we follow the change management process, which describes how to introduce and manage changes to products and product realization processes up to delivery to the customer. The change management process guarantees compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, industry-specific standards and individual customer contracts.

Change-specific and automated workflows orchestrate company-wide, cross-functional evaluation of the change (including the integrated risk assessment) and streamlines the information flow between Manufacturing and Business Divisions. Release by change review boards at management level upon thorough assessment by all stakeholders contribute to our quality objective: Zero defect regarding our commitments.

In case of major changes that may affect the form, fit or function of a product or adversely affect the product's quality or reliability, Infineon informs the affected customers via a product/process change notification (PCN). We follow international standard JEDEC J-STD-046 "Customer Notification Standard for Product/Process Changes by Electronic Product Suppliers".

Customers will be notified a minimum of 90 days before the proposed first ship date of the changed product. According to the JEDEC J-STD-046 standard, lack of acknowledgement of the PCN within 30 days constitutes acceptance of the change.
