About

Dishwasher motor control spans four main functions: wash pumps circulate water; heat-pump compressors support efficient drying; drying blowers move air through the drying path; and drain pumps remove wastewater. For the mainstream high-voltage wash pump, use PSOC™ Control C3 Entry with CIPOS™ Micro; an EiceDRIVER™ plus CoolMOS™ PFD7 discrete stage is an alternative. Apply PSOC™ Control C3 Entry with CIPOS™ Micro or Mini to the high-voltage heat-pump compressor. For high-voltage drying blowers and drain pumps, use CIPOS™ Micro where platform reuse or added margin is beneficial, or evaluate a discrete CoolMOS™ PFD7 stage. For 12–48 V wash pumps, drying blowers, and drain pumps, pair PSOC™ Control C3 Entry with a three-phase driver and OptiMOS™ MOSFETs. PSOC™ Control C1 supports lowest-BOM variants; PSOC™ Control C3 Main with CoolGaN™ Drive or discrete CoolGaN™ HEMTs supports premium efficiency and power density. Sensorless control and shunt current sensing suit many designs, with XENSIV™ Hall or TMR sensing added when position, speed, or faster current monitoring is needed.

Dishwasher electronics need reliable rails for controllers, sensors, displays, connectivity, valves, and actuators while meeting standby-power and space targets. CoolSET™ PWM and CoolSET™ SiP support compact auxiliary supplies, and CoolMOS™ P7 superjunction MOSFETs support discrete offline conversion. PFC controllers address designs that require power-factor correction. Higher-power heat-pump or motor stages can use CIPOS™ IPMs or EiceDRIVER™ gate drivers with suitable 600 V or 650 V switches. Engineers can balance efficiency, electromagnetic compatibility, thermal design, PCB area, component count, and cost.

Create sealed, responsive controls and scalable appliance platforms with PSOC™ 4 or PSOC™ Edge microcontrollers. PSOC™ 4 Multi-Sense combines capacitive, inductive, and non-contact liquid sensing for waterproof touch controls, touch through metal, and level detection.

PSOC™ Edge adds graphics, sensor aggregation, and local AI/ML acceleration for richer HMIs, voice, and diagnostics. XENSIV™ 60 GHz radar enables presence-aware displays or touchless gestures in premium designs. ModusToolbox™ software, middleware, code examples, DEEPCRAFT™ tools, and supported RTOS options help engineers reuse designs across product tiers.

Infineon sensing technologies address several dishwasher functions. XENSIV™ Hall switches and magnetic position sensors support water-level and water-softener-level detection, pump and fan commutation, door position, spray-arm position, flow meters, and inlet or drain valves. XENSIV™ current sensors can monitor electrical load, while MEMS microphones can capture acoustic signatures for condition-monitoring algorithms. Digital temperature sensors may be evaluated for dry board-level thermal monitoring when their qualification, placement, and thermal coupling meet system requirements. The waterproof DPS368 measures barometric air pressure and can support air-pressure or airflow monitoring; it is not a direct liquid-pressure transducer. PSOC™ 4000T Multi-Sense adds non-contact liquid-level sensing for suitable containers, such as detergent or rinse-aid reservoirs.

Connected dishwashers need dependable links for commissioning, status updates, remote diagnostics, and smart-home integration.

AIROC™ Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® solutions span established Wi-Fi® generations through current Wi-Fi® 6 and 6E connected MCUs and combo devices, with Bluetooth® Low Energy options. Matter over Wi-Fi® support can simplify ecosystem integration. For professional platforms, Infineon MCUs also provide CAN FD and standard serial interfaces for local equipment networks. Software, drivers, and module ecosystems help reduce RF and system-integration effort.

Connected appliances require protected identities, credentials, communications, and software updates.

OPTIGA™ Trust secure elements provide tamper-resistant cryptographic operations and key storage, complementing secure boot, hardware cryptography, and protected execution features in selected PSOC™, XMC™, and AIROC™ devices. For Matter-enabled designs, OPTIGA™ Trust M MTR supports device attestation and late-stage certificate provisioning. This layered approach helps engineers secure onboarding, cloud communication, firmware updates, and product variants.
