About

PSOC™ 6 microcontrollers (MCUs) are based on a low power 40 nm technology and have a dual-core CPU architecture based on Arm® Cortex®-M4 and Cortex®-M0+ that optimizes for power and performance. With robust embedded security features, PSOC™ 6 can be used as the main system MCU plus wireless MCU in smart locks. The integration of CAPSENSE™ capacitive touch sensing, rich analog and digital peripherals enable PSOC™ 6 to integrate many of the discrete ICs / smaller MCU functionality into a single chip solution, saving board space and BOM costs.

The versatile PSOC™ 4 MCU combines a 32-bit Arm® Cortex® M0+ CPU, intelligent analog, programmable digital, and capacitive sensing (CAPSENSE™) in a single device. CAPSENSE™ technology enables long range proximity sensing through a high Signal-to-Noise Ratio, while operating in ultra-low power mode. CAPSENSE™ technology is ideal for smart locks due to its always-on sensing on touch buttons, water resistance and temperature-stable performance.

The ultra-low power, high-performance AIROC™ wireless connectivity products for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® solutions offer a wide variety of reliable, secure solutions that connect to cloud and management systems around-the-clock for always-on connectivity and to meet your specific smart lock needs. The products link smart locks to the whole smart home, while its Matter-enabled products work across ecosystems together and can easily be controlled by the preferred system.

The AIROC™ Bluetooth® Low Energy devices enable compute at the edge capability for smart locks. With a comprehensive range of highly integrated, low-power, high performance products, Infineon's Bluetooth® solutions accommodate your specific smart lock requirements.

The OPTIGA™ family, including OPTIGA™ Trust M and OPTIGA™ Authenticate, plays a critical role in providing additional security layers for smart lock applications.

The OPTIGA™ Trust M family protects against hacking by serving as a Root of Trust for smart lock systems,  ensuring security, data confidentiality, and integrity. OPTIGA™ Trust M MTR is Matter certified and enhances the user experience by facilitating easy addition of secured Matter compatibility to smart lock designs.

OPTIGA™ Authenticate family of products provides a unique ID and cryptography-based secured authentication, ensuring that only authorized users can access smart locks. An NFC card with the Secured NFC tag acts as a key to the smart home and works with a simple tap. OPTIGA™ Authenticate S and OPTIGA™ Authenticate On enables authentication of components such as the battery, increasing smart lock safety.

Infineon’s XENSIV™ radar sensors offer a cost-effective, low-power solution for enhancing smart door locks with advanced features like tracking, presence and away detection. These sensors integrate with smart locks, enabling them to activate based on motion detection, which helps minimize operating expenses and conserve network bandwidth during idle periods.

Infineon REAL3™ Time of Flight (ToF) solution offers the highest level of secure face authentication. The technology is excellent for spoofing robust, reliable and fast authentication in low and bright light conditions and is used in millions of cell phones and smart door lock systems today.

The Infineon XENSIV™ TLI493D family of small low power 3D magnetic sensors is targeted at deadbolt position detection. Due to the small WLB-5 package (1.13 mm x 0.93 mm x 0.59 mm) and the low current consumption of 7 nA in power-down mode, the magnetic sensor is ideal for battery-powered applications such as door locks.

The NAC1080 is an NFC actuation controller with integrated H-bridge that comes with energy harvesting modules. It enables cost-effective development of passive smart actuators like passive locks. The low-power Arm® Cortex®-M0 based microcontroller with integrated NFC frontend, sensing unit, motor driver, and energy harvesting function enables customers to develop smart actuation devices, like smart locks, with minimum system BOM requirements.
