About

PSOC™ Edge E84 series microcontrollers are based on high performance Arm® Cortex®-M55, including Helium™ DSP support paired with Arm® Ethos™-U55, and Arm® Cortex®-M33, combined with Infineon's ultra-low power NNLite neural network accelerator. These MCUs help engineers to design the next-generation of responsive smart watches. The hardware-assisted ML acceleration capabilities of PSOC™ Edge E84 MCUs enhance end-user experiences by enabling watches to be more intelligent and intuitive with features such as contextual awareness and advanced touch, graphic, and voice capabilities.

AIROC™ Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® combos integrate IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® 5.4 capabilities in a single-chip solution to enable small-form-factor smart and feature watch designs. With their low-power architecture, these Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® combos are ideal for battery powered smart and feature watches where best-in-class power consumption is critical. An embedded Bluetooth® stack supports full Classic Bluetooth® profiles to enhance audio capabilities, while its Bluetooth® Low Energy features allow smart watches to maintain connectivity even when the host processor is in low-power sleep mode.

Infineon’s eSIM “ready-to-connect” solution, powered by OPTIGA™ Connect products, offers the maximum flexibility in choosing the form factor that meets your smart and feature watch design needs, while getting your product to market faster. The turnkey solution reduces operating costs by streamlining processes and eliminating the need to send eSIMs to service providers for operating system loading, protecting components, reducing failures, and boosting overall watch quality.

OPTIGA™ Connect products like OC1230, which is both the world’s tiniest GSMA-compliant and the world’s first 28 nm eSIM solution optimized for mobile consumer devices, are ideal for smart watches. OC1230 is a 5G-ready eSIM turnkey solution optimized for mobile consumer devices. RSP- and MEP-compliant with GSMA SGP.22 v3, to greatly enhance end user experience.

With SECORA™ Connect, smart watch designers can secure payments while addressing the technical challenges by OEMs and other industry partners. SECORA™ Connect X is a system solution that is designed to be embedded into smart watches to provide contactless secured payment, transportation ticketing, and other applications via Near Field Communication (NFC).

XENSIV™ MEMS microphones deliver excellent audio quality for smart and feature watches. The microphones feature ultra-low self-noise (high SNR), extremely low distortions (THD) even at high sound pressure levels (SPL), very tight part-to-part phase and sensitivity matching, a flat frequency response with a low LFRO (low frequency roll-off) and an ultra-low group delay. Combined with selectable power modes and their very small package size, Infineon XENSIV™ MEMS microphones are a perfect match for designing smart watches with excellent audio capturing capabilities.
