Now the AURIX™ TC3xx has reached a new milestone in the drive to win industrial and automotive customers. It is the only microcontroller family to receive IEC61508:2010 certification up to Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3. Awarded by TUEV SAAR, this certification confirms that AURIX™ meets all requirements specified under the IEC61508 international safety standard. SIL 3 bears further testimony to the leading-edge security performance of AURIX™ as SIL3 is the highest safety integrity level under the IEC61508 standard.

Broad application spectrum
Typically applied to industrial applications, IEC61508 also informs the vast majority of functional safety standards developed for specific industry segments such as industrial machinery (ISO13489 or IEC62061), agriculture vehicles (ISO25119), and aviation (DO-254). Because standards such as these are derived from IEC61508, this means that AURIX™ is also a perfect fit for use cases in these and similar industry segments.
