Classic HITFET™ 12V is the established low-side switches family for automotive and industrial applications. Thanks to their proven technology, the reliable devices are the right solution for applications that require high robustness and energy capability. The family consists of single and dual channel switches from 8 mΩ to 900 mΩ in three different packages: TO252, SOT223, and DSO-8.

About Classic HITFET™ 12V automotive smart low-side switches

Infineon’s Classic HITFET™ 12V (“Highly Integrated Temperature protected MOSFET”) single- and dual-channel low-side switches have been established in the market for more than 25 years. Thanks to their reliable technology, the devices are the right solution for applications that require high robustness and energy capability. Classic HITFET™ 12V devices are used in automotive applications such as Body Control Module (BCM), gasoline direct injection, exterior front lighting, and valve control.

The Classic HITFET™ 12V family is available as single- and dual-channel devices with RDS(ON) range from 8 mΩ to 900 mΩ. Devices in this family come in different packages: TO-252, SOT-223, SCT-595 and DSO-8.  Classic HITFET™ 12V switches boast an impressive range of protection and diagnostic features, including short-circuit, overload, overtemperature, overvoltage, and ESD protection. The Classic HITFET™ 12V family also offers both latch and restart device options, making it versatile and easy to tailor to specific application needs.

Classic HITFET™ 12V design support

Infineon offers a range of design-in materials, which include application notes, evaluation boards, PCB design data, simulation models, and online simulations available on each product page in the "Design Support" section. In addition, we offer a dedicated tool suite for smart power switches and gate driver ICs for automotive power distribution.

Infineon Smart Power Switches & Gate Driver Tool Suite support system architects and hardware designers from idea to realization. This suite allows the user to select the right smart power switch or gate driver IC for a specific load using one of the “Finder & Selection” tools. Together with the different “Simulation & Modeling” tools, various application scenarios can be simulated for the respective product. The results can be documented in the report tool and verified with the “Configuration” tools plus the corresponding evaluation boards.
