Under its Peak Amplification division, our associated partner makes a significant product pre-announcement introducing AM-400C2G: next-generation audio amplifier modules that leverage Gallium Nitride (GaN) power semiconductors instead of traditional silicon MOSFETs.

Key Advantages of AM-400C2G Audio Amplifier Module

Elytone’s latest Class-D amplifier module, the AM-400C2G (400W), is designed for professional audio customers, such as manufacturers of powered speakers, hi-fi systems, AV and commercial audio installations. Powered by our GaN transistors, the modules offer a range of compelling advantages:

Higher efficiency & thermal performance

  • Operates at such high efficiency that it enables heatsink-less operation at ≥200W into a 4-ohm load

Increased power density

  • Output up to 2 × 300W into a 2-ohm load, enabling a high power output within a smaller board size

Superior sound quality & lower distortion

  • With a self-oscillating frequency around 1 MHz (vs. 400 kHz for MOSFET modules), GaN’s faster switching speeds deliver a cleaner Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal, reducing Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) by 5x.

Powered by CoolGaN™ and Infineon’s powerhouse gate drivers & controller 

The Peak Amplification AM-400C2G integrates Infineon’s leading CoolGaN™ technology and supporting devices, including:

  • CoolGaN™ 100 V transistors (IGB110S10S1) – enabling ultra-fast switching and minimal energy loss, resulting in up to 37% higher efficiency, 50% lower volume with heatsink removal, reduced heat dissipation, and improved audio clarity.
  • EiceDRIVER™ 200 V high-side TDI gate driver IC for GaN SG HEMTs and MOSFETs (1EDN7116) – ensuring precise, reliable GaN control at high frequencies, which allows smaller passive components and contributes to a more compact, cost-effective module design.
  • MERUS™ discrete Class D amplifier (IRS20957S controller) – providing robust integration with built-in protection features, delivering safe, stable amplifier operation even under demanding load conditions.
