Quantum computers use quantum bits (qubits) that can be 0 and 1 at the same time. This lets them explore many possibilities in parallel and solve certain kinds of problems much faster than today’s computers.

Infineon brings quantum computers from the lab to real life. We develop the quantum processing unit (QPU), the core chip that runs quantum calculations. Infineon also supplies parts for building scalable quantum computers and precise quantum sensors. In our labs, we explore several technologies, including trapped ions, superconducting circuits, and silicon spins. To keep data safe, Infineon’s controllers support post-quantum cryptography.

Why it matters: Quantum computing can solve complex problems in healthcare, cybersecurity, finance, logistics, and energy faster and more efficiently. It can also improve resource use and reduce carbon footprints. Infineon’s work turns this potential into practical, secure solutions.
