Munich, Germany – 27 October 2026 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) has introduced new OptiMOS™ 7 automotive MOSFETs that take the established TOLL package to a new performance level. By combining OptiMOS 7 semiconductor technology with a clip-based interconnection concept, Infineon has achieved ultra-low on-resistance in the proven 10 × 12 mm² TOLL footprint. This enables automotive customers to meet increasing power density and efficiency requirements in 12 V and 48 V systems without changing to larger package architectures or redesigning their board layouts. With best-in-class on-resistance performance, the new devices reduce power losses and enable higher-performing automotive power systems.

As vehicles become increasingly electrified, the demand for more efficient, compact, and high-performance power systems continues to grow. Automotive engineers face a design challenge: power and efficiency requirements are increasing, but moving to larger packages adds cost, board space, and design complexity. The new OptiMOS 7 TOLL devices address this challenge by delivering substantially lower conduction losses within the same form factor, combining leading electrical performance with design continuity.

The new 40 V, 80 V, and 100 V MOSFETs achieve RDS(on) values of 0.24 mΩ, 0.57 mΩ and 0.88 mΩ respectively, representing significant improvements of 65 percent, 48 percent and 37 percent compared with the referenced previous-generation OptiMOS TOLL products respectively. The combination of OptiMOS 7 technology and clip-based interconnection also improves capacitance and gate-charge characteristics, reducing switching losses in addition to conduction losses. A significantly tighter gate-threshold-voltage range supports more balanced current sharing when devices are connected in parallel, lowering the risk of damage to an individual MOSFET.

This performance advance enables customers to implement high-current automotive power stages with reduced losses in the same package they already use. Depending on their system priorities, customers can leverage the ultra-low RDS(on) to achieve higher efficiency, reduced heat generation, greater current capability, or fewer parallel MOSFETs, providing strategic design flexibility without requiring changes to their existing ecosystem.

The new devices target high-power 12 V and 48 V applications including EPS, battery-disconnect switches, motor drives, and HV-LV DC-DC converters, where conduction losses directly impact system efficiency and thermal management. By enabling higher usable power within this established architecture, the OptiMOS 7 devices help automotive designers optimize their power distribution and conversion systems for next-generation electric and electrified vehicles.
