Infineon and ASMedia collaborate to expand USB 20Gbps ecosystem for AI and high-bandwidth applications

Munich, Germany – 30 September 2026 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY), a global semiconductor leader in USB connectivity, and ASMedia announce a strategic collaboration to accelerate the adoption of USB 20Gbps technology, targeting the surging demands of machine-learning cameras and physical AI systems. Infineon’s EZ-USB™ FX20 controller, introduced in 2025, helps address the device-side requirements for demands of bandwidth-intensive applications, enabling 20Gbps data throughput over existing USB-C infrastructure. 

To support broader deployment, reliable high-bandwidth connectivity requires more than just device-side components. It demands robust cabling and comprehensive host support. By integrating Infineon’s EZ-USB FX20 with ASMedia’s latest USB4 40Gbps host controller, the ASM4242, the two companies are leading the industry in building a cohesive, end-to-end USB 20Gbps ecosystem. This partnership enables developers and manufacturers to implement high-speed USB connectivity in emerging AI and data-intensive applications.
