With our 20 mm, 34 mm, and 50 mm bipolar modules in solder bond technology, we have developed a cost-optimized alternative to our pressure contact module technology. Solder bond modules are ideal for applications where the highest robustness of pressure contact technology is not a must. The 50 mm Prime Block modules cover current ratings of 390 A, and we offer the 50 mm modules TT/TD320N16SOF with pre-applied silicone-free Thermal Interface Material.

  • Optimized thermal design
  • Best in class current rating
  • 50 mm foot print available with TIM
  • Stable thermal performance

About

The modules are offered as dual modules in topologies thyristor/thyristor, thyristor/diode & diode/diode with blocking voltages of 1600 V and in current ranges from 60 A to 130 A for 20 mm from 160 A to 240 A for 34 mm and from 280 A to 390 A for 50 mm.

The 34 mm and 50 mm thyristor/thyristor and thyristor/diode modules are also available in 1800 V – additionally to the 1600 V portfolio. As rectifier diode modules you will get them as well in 1800 V, 2000 V, and 2200 V for high production volumes.

The bipolar modules in solder bond technology incorporate important key features, e.g., optimized thermal design, best in class current rating in 50 mm footprint and the 50 mm footprint is also available with TIM. The benefits include increased power density, predictably high performance and lifetime due to 100% X-ray monitoring, and a solid base plate for fast and easy mounting.

The bipolar modules in solder bond technology can be used in a wide range of applications, such as industrial drives, power supplies, industrial heating and welding, and battery-powered tools.
