The CY15B016J-SXA is a 16-Kbit automotive-grade F-RAM with I2C interface, supporting up to 100 trillion read/write cycles and 151-year data retention. Operating from 2.7 V to 3.65 V across -40 to +85°C, it offers NoDelay™ writes up to 1 MHz, with 100 μA active and 3 μA standby current. Its 8-pin SOIC package is RoHS compliant, making it ideal for frequent, rapid-write nonvolatile memory applications and drop-in replacement for serial EEPROMs.

Features

  • 16-Kbit nonvolatile F-RAM, 2K × 8
  • 100 trillion (10¹⁴) read/write endurance
  • 151-year data retention at 65°C
  • NoDelay™ instant write technology
  • I2C interface up to 1 MHz
  • Low active current: 100 μA at 100 kHz
  • Typical standby current: 3 μA
  • Wide supply voltage: 2.7 V to 3.65 V
  • Operating temp: –40°C to +85°C
  • Write protect pin for data security
  • Schmitt trigger and slope control on I2C pins
  • Direct hardware replacement for I2C EEPROM

Benefits

  • Reliable data even after power loss
  • Enables frequent, rapid data logging
  • No write delays, instant data storage
  • Outlasts EEPROM in endurance and retention
  • Compatible with standard I2C designs
  • Reduces system power consumption
  • Minimizes standby energy drain
  • Operates in harsh environments
  • Protects critical data from accidental writes
  • Improved noise immunity on I2C bus
  • Simple upgrade from legacy EEPROM
  • Fewer system-level reliability concerns
