CY14B256Q2-LHXI is a 256-Kbit (32K × 8) SPI nvSRAM that pairs SRAM with QuantumTrap nonvolatile cells to retain data without a battery. It supports 40-MHz SPI (modes 0 and 3), write protection via WP and software block protection, and software STORE/RECALL. AutoStore on power-down uses an external 61 µF to 180 µF VCAP capacitor. Operates from 2.7 V to 3.6 V over -40°C to 85°C in an 8-pin DFN package.

Features

  • 256-Kbit nvSRAM, 32K × 8 array
  • AutoStore on power-down (VCAP)
  • STORE via SPI instruction
  • RECALL on power-up or SPI
  • SPI clock up to 40 MHz
  • SPI modes 0 (0,0) and 3 (1,1)
  • 3.0 V supply, 2.7 V to 3.6 V
  • Avg active current 10 mA at 40 MHz
  • Standby current 5 mA (CS high)
  • 20-year data retention
  • 1,000 K nonvolatile STORE cycles
  • WP pin and block write protection

Benefits

  • SRAM speed with nonvolatile backup
  • Saves data automatically at power loss
  • Software STORE enables safe saves
  • Fast restore after power returns
  • 40 MHz SPI reduces access latency
  • Fits common SPI hosts and modes
  • Works on standard 3 V rails
  • Low current eases power budgeting
  • Standby mode lowers idle power
  • Long retention keeps data for years
  • High STORE endurance for logging
  • Write protect prevents corruption
