AURIX™ RC1, our new microcontroller family, builds on the openness of RISC-V and our automotive expertise to advance real-time computing and control for SDV, SDX and Physical AI applications. AURIX™ RC1 complements Infineon’s existing AURIX™ TC3x, AURIX™ TC4x and TRAVEO™ T2G portfolio.

The shift toward software-defined vehicles (SDVs) is reshaping automotive architectures and changing what microcontrollers need to deliver. With AURIX™ RC1, we introduce a new generation of automotive microcontrollers designed for this transformation.

Vehicles are becoming smarter, more connected and more software-driven. At the same time, vehicle architectures are shifting from distributed electronic control units toward more zonal and centralized architectures. This transition increases the demand for scalable computing, reusable software and deterministic real-time control across vehicle platforms. Despite these changes, deterministic real-time performance, functional safety, cybersecurity, reliability and long-term availability remain essential.

With AURIX™ RC1, we combine the flexibility of the open RISC-V architecture with decades of automotive expertise. The result is a trusted foundation for real-time compute and control across software-defined vehicles, Software-Defined Everything (SDX) and Physical AI.

AURIX™ RC1 has been designed to help manufacturers accelerate innovation while simplifying development across vehicle platforms. Bringing the next-level of performance, scalability, safety, and security, power efficiency, connectivity and edge AI to automotive electronics.

  • Simplified development and software reuse
  • Reduced system cost
  • Improved vehicle efficiency
  • Future-proof performance

AURIX™ RC1 is a scalable RISC-V-based microcontroller family developed to combine various control functions on a common platform for software-defined vehicles. Application-specific configurations target body, gateway and zone control, chassis, battery management, conventional and electric powertrain control units, safety companion roles for driver-assistance systems-on-chip, as well as central compute and cockpit graphics functions.

The same principles reach beyond the vehicle. SDX and Physical AI bring software-driven intelligence to machines and physical systems, including emerging robotics applications.

A common RISC-V foundation, combined with a consistent software stack and toolchain, supports the reuse of software, tools and engineering expertise across AURIX™ RC1 devices and applications.

Together with the established AURIX™ ecosystem of design houses, software partners and development tools, this provides a consistent development environment across the AURIX™ RC1 family and helps bring new applications to market faster.

AURIX™ RC1 Virtual Prototype is available and allows software development before the first hardware is available.
