This compact reference design for solar optimizers features two GaN transistors in a half-bridge configuration, each driven by a dedicated gate driver. The high switching frequency allows reducing the size of the power inductors and bulk capacitors, and thanks to the top-side-cooled housing of the GaN switch, it is also possible to reduce the heatsink space. Furthermore, this all-in-one solar optimizer solution embeds a control system and sensing features.
