This compact inverter reference design for low-voltage battery-powered applications includes twelve CoolGaN™ Transistors 100 V G5 (IGC016K10S2) in a half-bridge configuration with two devices in parallel for all phases. The output phase current is sensed by the XENSIV™ TLE5571 TMR current sensor. In addition, the PSOC™ Control C3 microcontroller is able to run the field-oriented control (FOC) in either sensor or sensorless way.

Features

  • CoolGaN™ Transistor with Schottky diode
  • XENSIV™ on-contact current sensor
  • PSOC™ Control C3
  • 6-layer PCB with compact size

Benefits

  • Compact design
  • Non-contact current sensing
  • High switching/control frequency
  • Reduced torque ripples
  • Faster control loops
  • Smooth and precise control loops
  • Better dynamic response
