Infineon 32-bit Embedded Power ICs based on ARM® Cortex®-M are designed for automotive motor control solutions. They integrate on single die the 32-bit microcontroller, the non-volatile flash memory, the analog and mixed signal peripherals, the communication interfaces along with the driving stages needed for either relay, half-bridge or full-bridge DC and BLDC motor applications. These highly integrated solutions save space and energy, improve the overall system reliability through advanced diagnosis features and reduce the overall cost due to a minimum number of components.

Our Embedded Power products integrate data processing, actuation and sensing. The chip comes in a leadless VQFN package with 7 x 7 mm footprint and enables PCB space saving. The Embedded Power IC families allow driving of relays and MOSFETs at VBatt ≥ 6 V without external components, providing a very cost effective solution on a system level.

Extensive diagnostics and protections are embedded within the system-on-chip, more than a discrete approach can offer. In addition both the Embedded Power IC and the external MOFESTs can be protected.

Our Product Family Offerings for Motor Control Solutions
The TLE984x family is mainly addressing body and comfort applications such as sunroof and window lift. Our platform solution for size- and weight-optimized relay-based motor control solutions offers scalability in terms of flash memory size and MCU system clock frequency with pin-compatible devices.
For single-phase applications like engine cooling fan, HVAC blower or auxiliary water pumps TLE9845QX can be used to achieve a cost-efficient solution and saving PCB space due to the high integration.
Supporting the transition from relay-based towards solid-state solutions the TLE986x family is the perfect fit for applications such as wiper, sunroof or window lift. It offers scalability in terms of flash memory size, MCU system clock frequency and temperature ranges supporting a wide range of motor control algorithms. The configurable MOSFET driver simplifies the EMC design. In addition the H-Bridge Driver IC family is pin- and software compatible to our 3-phase Bridge Driver IC family supporting a platform approach for both DC and BLDC applications.
The TLE987x family addresses BLDC applications up to 1kW such as engine cooling fan, HVAC blower or auxiliary pumps (e.g. oil, water and fuel pump). Besides the Automotive target applications also power tools, drones and other industrial BLDC applications.
It offers scalability in terms of flash memory size, MCU system clock frequency and temperature ranges supporting a wide range of motor control algorithms, either sensor-based or sensor-less.
The 3-Phase Bridge Driver IC family is pin- and software compatible to our H-Bridge Driver IC family supporting a platform approach for both DC and BLDC applications.

Infineon`s Embedded Power ICs are developed as QM-parts, but nonetheless can be and are already used in a variety of motor control application that require Functional Safety (ISO26262) up to ASIL-B such as but not limited to Window Lift (ASIL-A), Sunroof (ASIL-A), Auxiliary pumps (ASIL-B) or Engine Cooling Fan (ASIL-B).
