48V Battery Management System (BMS)
Complete and comprehensive system solution with high integration for space saving
Independent of the P0 – P5 configuration in the powertrain, Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicles do have a 48V battery to store energy from recuperation (regenerative braking) and to supply energy to the 48V electrical systems. The main functions of the corresponding Battery Management System attached to the battery are computation, communication, monitoring (SOC/ SOD, SOH, SOP, SOS, Temperature, coolant flow, Voltage, and current), and protection. For safety reasons, a Battery Disconnect Switch (BDS) is integrated into the BMS.
Infineon offers a complete and comprehensive system solution with high integration for space-saving ranging from supply IC’s, microcontroller, monitoring IC, balancing IC, pressure sensor, gate driver, power MOSFET, and transceivers. According to safety requirements, the key components microcontroller, PMIC, and 3 phase Gate Driver are ISO26262 ASIL-D compliant.
