Villach, October 27, 2025 – Infineon Austria is the first company to bring this award to Austria. The prestigious “Industrial Excellence Award Europe” recognizes Infineon Austria's outstanding achievements in the areas of innovation, quality, and manufacturing excellence. The award ceremony took place in Paris.

“We are extremely proud to receive this prestigious industry award for Austria for the first time,” says Thomas Reisinger, Chief Operating Officer of Infineon Technologies Austria AG. “This award reinforces our ongoing commitment to innovation, technological excellence, and our sustainable and customer-focused products and processes. Above all, it is proof of the expertise and tremendous dedication of our team. They are key knowledge carriers in the transition to a digital, sustainable Industry 5.0.”

Focus on resilience and sustainability in Industry 5.0

This year's industry competition focused on the topics of resilience and sustainability. Infineon stands out with a holistic, sustainable approach that covers all aspects of its business activities. Its products make a key contribution to decarbonization and digitalization. At the same time, the company is committed to resilience. It achieves this through strategic supplier management, the global “Infineon One Virtual Fab” network, a comprehensive cybersecurity program, and continuous training for its skilled workers. The high-tech factory in Villach is based on knowledge-based workplaces and intelligent automation. This is a decisive advantage in the global innovation race, further strengthening future viability and competitiveness in line with “Industry 5.0.”

Effective combination accelerates innovation

As part of the “Industrial Excellence Awards 2025,” the Infineon Austria team underwent a comprehensive evaluation process. An external team of experts visited Villach and was impressed by the high quality of implementation. The close connection between research, development, and manufacturing is the particular strength of the Villach innovation factory. This increases the speed of innovation and sets a global benchmark in the industry.

Technology portfolio and excellent manufacturing

The Villach manufacturing facility focuses on the highly efficient production of 300-millimeter silicon thin wafers and gallium nitride and silicon carbide materials. This enables even more energy-efficient solutions in AI, electromobility, renewable energies, and robotics.  With the “Infineon One Virtual Fab,” Villach is also digitally networked with the manufacturing sites in Dresden and Kulim. This guarantees you a high degree of efficiency and quality as well as increased flexibility in manufacturing.

Infineon has received this prestigious award for the second time since 2017. It recognizes the company's technological contributions and its long-standing role as a leading global semiconductor company in Europe.
