Infineon runs on 100 percent green electricity, achieving major milestone on the way to 2030 CO₂-neutral goal

Infineon has switched all locations globally to green electricity
This transition translates to an annual avoidance of approximately 975,150 tons of CO₂ equivalents
Interim goal of 70% reduction of CO₂emissions achieved with an actual reduction of over 80% compared with the 2019 base year, while turnover doubled at the same time

Munich, Germany – 11 December 2025 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY), a leading provider of power semiconductor solutions, today announced that its global operations are running on 100 percent green electricity. This represents a significant milestone in the company's journey to carbon neutrality by 2030. Infineon has also reached its 2025 interim goal of reducing carbon emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 70 percent with an actual reduction of over 80 percent compared to the base year 2019, while doubling its revenue during the same period. In addition, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated the science-based targets of Infineon earlier this year in May.

Infineon has long focused on reducing CO₂ emissions and improving resource-efficiency in its manufacturing. The company has made steady progress since defining ambitious climate targets in 2020. Infineon switched its European sites to 100 percent green electricity as early as 2021, followed by North America one year later. The major manufacturing sites in Malaysia, Kulim and Melaka made the move in 2023. In 2024 and 2025, the remaining production sites in China, Indonesia and Singapore were converted, as well as all Research, Development, Sales and Marketing locations globally.

Infineon's achievement of 100 percent green energy aligns with the RE100 standard. The global initiative brings together companies committed to 100 percent renewable energy and provides a framework for the transition. As part of a mix of measures, Infineon concluded long term Power Purchase Agreements for wind and solar power plants in Germany and Spain this year. Furthermore, on-site photovoltaic is being installed in Kulim and Melaka (Malaysia), while other sites including Warstein, Regensburg (Germany), Villach (Austria), Wuxi (China) and Singapore have already been generating solar power for some time now.

By expanding its silicon carbide (SiC) production in Dresden (Germany) and Kulim (Malaysia), the company is further supporting the global build-out of sustainable power. Infineon semiconductor innovation is instrumental in the generation of energy from sun and wind, the stabilization of the grid as well as powering Artificial Intelligence in an energy-efficient and reliable way. Aiming for state-of-the-art sustainable manufacturing, Infineon deploys latest greenhouse gas abatement systems and highly efficient equipment, in addition to using renewable energy.
