Munich, Germany –17 March 2026 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) is expanding its voltage regulation (VR) solutions portfolio for DC-DC conversions in AI data centers with two new product families spanning digital control and telemetry-enabled point-of-load regulation. Together, the new XDPE1E digital multiphase PWM buck controllers and TDA49720/12/06 PMBus PoLs help customers deliver higher compute performance per rack while reducing design cycles and speeding platform bring-up.

Next-generation AI platforms are pushing power architectures to new limits: core rails demand extreme current density and transient response, while a growing number of non-core rails require compact, efficient regulation with accurate monitoring and control. Infineon addresses this end-to-end challenge with a scalable portfolio designed to simplify VR design, improve board-space utilization, and support fast, repeatable deployment across rapidly changing processor roadmaps.

Flexible digital multiphase control for scalable AI platforms
With the XDPE1E3G6A and XDPE1E496A, Infineon introduced digital 3- and 4-loop multiphase PWM buck controllers built for multi-processor AI platforms and advanced VR inductor topologies. The controllers enable customers to scale compute performance using a single, flexible power design, helping reduce redesign effort across new processor generations and accelerating time-to-market. They offer highly configurable phase allocation and fully programmable phase firing order and support multiple protocols, including PMBus, AVSBus, SVID, and SVI3, enabling broad compatibility across leading processor ecosystems. Digital features such as Active Transient Response, fast DVID, automatic phase shedding, and PFM help address dynamic AI loads, while built-in tools like Digital Scope, Black Box recording, and extensive protection features reduce bench time and strengthen system robustness.

PMBus-enabled integrated PoLs for fast, monitored non-core rails

To address the increasing number of non-core rails in AI systems, Infineon added the TDA49720/12/06 family of fully integrated point-of-load DC-DC buck regulators with PMBus-compliant digital telemetry. With 6 A, 12 A, and 20 A options in 3 mm x 3 mm and 3 mm x 3.5 mm packages, the family helps maximize power density and simplify layout on accelerator cards and server boards. PMBus telemetry enables accurate reporting of key parameters, including output voltage, load current, input voltage, and die temperature, supporting system optimization and reliability monitoring while reducing design iteration. A proprietary valley current mode constant on-time control scheme enables fast transient response, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and support for all-MLCC output capacitance designs. The devices operate from 2.7 V to 16 V input and across a wide junction temperature range of -40 °C to 150 °C.

The new voltage regulation solutions are optimized for use with Infineon’s broad AI server power delivery portfolio from grid to core – spanning solid-state transformers and circuit breakers, high-voltage and intermediate bus conversion, as well as second-stage DC conversion power modules. Leveraging the benefits of silicon (Si), silicon carbide (SiC), and gallium nitride (GaN) to achieve the highest efficiency, density, and robustness, Infineon gives customers a clear path to end-to-end power architectures with proven high-quality components, consistent design support, and scalable performance for next-generation AI server platforms.
