Munich, Germany – 3 March 2026 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) introduces the MOTIX™ TLE9954QSW40-33, its first fully integrated motor control system-in-package (SiP) for the automotive sector. The new motor driver addresses the industry’s growing challenges related to extreme miniaturization and the increasing demand for intelligent motor control in space-constrained environments.

“By integrating all essential motor control functions, including power stages, into a single package, our customers can reduce the component count by up to 30 percent compared to discrete designs and can realize 40 percent smaller circuit boards,” said Andreas Doll, Senior Vice President and General Manager Smart Power at Infineon. “This allows highly compact designs in applications such as thermal management systems in electric vehicles – including pumps, fans, and valves – as well as comfort functions such as seat adjustment.”

The core of the MOTIX TLE9954QSW40-33 is a highly integrated system architecture that combines the motor control microcontroller, power supply, communication interface, 3-phase bridge driver, and, for the first time, the OptiMOS™ 7 power stage within a single LIQFN-58-1 package. The package is specifically designed to optimize heat dissipation from the MOSFETs to the PCB, supporting high power density while significantly reducing parasitic inductances and improving EMC behavior, particularly at high switching frequencies. Thanks to this level of integration, PCB implementations for practical comfort-system designs can be smaller than a postage stamp, making them exceptionally compact for automotive applications. The motor drive solution is complemented by a 150 W water pump reference design and delivers even higher power levels under optimized thermal conditions.

The devices feature an Arm® Cortex®-M23 core with a clock frequency of up to 40 MHz, integrated 72 kB flash memory, and 6 kB RAM. Field-oriented control (FOC) provides efficient and precise motor operation, while flexible PWM generation via the CCU7 timer unit and automatic LIN message processing reduces CPU load. Integrated Arm® TrustZone® technology provides hardware-based isolation of safety- and security-relevant functions for automotive applications. With AEC-Q100 Grade 0 qualification and support for ISO 26262 up to ASIL B, the MOTIX TLE9954QSW40-33 meets the reliability and safety requirements of modern automotive motor control applications. Moreover, the MOTIX MCU (SiP) is complemented by a comprehensive system offering including hardware kits, application-specific reference designs, specialized software packages, development tools, and application-optimized FOC motor control software, all of which increase design flexibility and accelerate time to market.
