USB-C High Voltage Microcontrollers
Convert your embedded applications to USB-C with EZ-PDTM PMG1 portfolio of high voltage microcontrollers with USB-C Power Delivery
USB-C High Voltage Microcontrollers subcategories
EZ-PD™ PMG1 (Power Delivery Microcontroller Gen 1) is the industry´s first family of high-voltage microcontrollers (MCU) with USB-C Power Delivery (PD). These chips include an Arm® Cortex®-M0/M0+ CPU and a USB-C PD controller along with analog and digital peripherals. It is targeted to any embedded system that provides/consumes power to/from a high-voltage USB-C PD port and leverages the microcontroller to provide additional control capability.
The EZ-PD™ PMG1 family has a market-proven USB-PD stack, ensuring spec compliance and interoperability. It’s the only high-voltage, programmable USB power delivery solution on the market today, complete with an integrated Arm® Cortex®-M0/M0+ up to 256 KB Flash and 32 KB RAM, a USB full-speed device, and analog and digital peripherals.
It offers customers a unified firmware view with an SDK supported in ModusToolbox™, enabling seamless migration between all EZ-PD™ PMG1 devices.
EZ-PD™ PMG1 is an integrated one-chip solution that solves the design problems engineers face when implementing USB-C in their applications such as the need for in-depth USB-C knowledge, the need for a separate low-cost and flexible MCU, the need for on-chip secure protection and large BOM when it comes to high-voltage USB-C solutions.
Infineon is the market leader in USB-C and has been helping early adopters bring their USB-C-connected products to market since 2015. Today, more than two billion devices are shipped annually with USB-C and USB Power Delivery on board. Going forward, USB-C will become the most common DC power source for consumer electronics, replacing all incompatible barrels or custom connectors with one common connector that is truly universal and accepted worldwide.
