High reliability and performance data storage solutions from Infineon
At Infineon, we understand the need for high reliability, high availability, and performance required for a RAID. RAID is a technique that combines multiple physical disks into one or more logical units for the purpose of making it a high-density data storage with data redundancy, data integrity, performance improvement, or all of these. RAID controller cards are the data storage devices used to manage hard disk drives or solid-state drives.
Our non-volatile SRAM (nvSRAM) and Ferroelectric RAM (F-RAM) are commonly used in these RAID card applications to keep track of the data packets while it transfers between the host and storage system, otherwise known as write journaling. If the system loses power while writing, the journal information is read back at next power cycle to identify any data that was not yet written. Parallel nvSRAM and serial Quad SPI
F-RAMs are preferred over other non-volatile memories due to their fast write speeds, high endurance and ability to capture data instantly on power loss without the use of any power backup.
High reliability for preservation of critical data without compromising performance
- Eliminates the need for back-up batteries or super capacitors
- Provides unlimited (nonvolatile) write cycles at the bus speed
- Instantly captures data on power loss

Smartify homes the secured way: Leading semiconductor solutions for convenient and green homes – seamless and always secured.
How does a smart home differ from a regular home? A smart home is equipped with technologies that make our lives more convenient and energy efficient. Today, the growing range of technologies encompasses smart home appliances, mobile devices and home automation systems, many of which are interconnected. But being ‘smart’ in this sense requires appliances and systems fitted with the right semiconductor solutions. They empower smart appliances, devices and systems to make sense of their environment and current situation. Working together, sensors, controllers and actuators enable members of a smart home to properly collect, interpret and process real-time data, then trigger the appropriate action or response. In an age of mounting security threats, security solutions keep all activities and system secured and out of harm’s way.
From intelligent air conditioning units to smart home security solutions, each smart home function depends on intelligent semiconductors. As this rapidly changing field continues to evolve and mature, having a reputable and reliable partner in smart home semiconductor technologies such as Infineon makes all the difference.
Smart home use cases: Infineon products in action
Infineon’s leading portfolio of best-fit, ready-to-use semiconductor solutions empowers you to create innovative smart home applications that meet both current and future demands. For example, the XENSIV™ sensor range enables highly accurate and reliable status monitoring in smart home devices. Or the OPTIGA™ product family of hardware-based security solutions, which offers the right level of security to protect both data and devices in smart home appliances. Equipped with IGBT power semiconductors in discrete or module packages, driver ICs, highly-integrated IPM solutions and XMC™ microcontroller from Infineon, your system is designed to live longer, make less noise and consume less energy.
Keeping data secured
Smart homes collect tons of data from videos, sensors, cameras and microphones. Data security and privacy measures prevent data from falling into the wrong hands. See in the video what’s required for a secured gateway.
Relax in the living room
Imaging walking into the living room to sit down and relax – and dimming the lights with a simple gesture. Watch the video to find out how our radar sensor solution makes it possible.
Smart home appliances
Above all you need a washing machine that works reliably. See how a washer with sensors automatically contacts the manufacturer via a secured connection, allowing the service department to detect a problem and respond before a breakdown.
Surveillance & detection
Just got home
When arriving by car at your smart home, a sensor detects you and the garage opens automatically. Radars and sensors from Infineon are key enablers for convenient, secured smart homes of today and tomorrow.
Smart air conditioning
A good night’s sleep
An air quality monitor keeps an eye on a range of parameters like CO2, pressure, temperature or humidity. Changes in air quality are monitored and adapted automatically to ensure good air quality all night long.
