Munich, Germany – 3 March 2026 – With the automotive industry's transition to software-defined vehicles (SDVs), cybersecurity has become a critical factor in protecting the vehicle ecosystem, safeguarding OEM intellectual property, and ensuring end-customer privacy.  To address this demand, Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) is enhancing its portfolio of automotive microcontrollers (MCUs). By ensuring ISO/SAE 21434 compliance for the AURIX™ TC4x and TC3x as well as for the PSOC™ Automotive and TRAVEO™ T2G families, Infineon is further solidifying its leadership in vehicle security. Additionally, the company has received CATARC cybersecurity certification for the AURIX TC397 and is introducing PQC-ready (Post-Quantum Cryptography) solutions.

“With these steps in enhancing the cybersecurity capabilities of Infineon automotive MCUs, we demonstrate our engagement with automotive manufacturers worldwide,” said Lars Wemme, Senior Vice President ADAS, Chassis & EE‑Architecture of Automotive Microcontrollers. “By offering a robust foundation for secured and compliant vehicle electronics, we help our customers to reduce development complexity and accelerate time to market.”

Key innovations in Infineon’s automotive MCU portfolio:

  • ISO/SAE 21434 compliance: While the AURIX TC4x is already certified to ISO/SAE 21434, the TRAVEO T2G and AURIX TC3x MCUs will achieve compliance starting in April 2026. The upcoming PSOC Automotive MCUs are also designed to meet the requirements of the standard. This ensures simplified compliance with global cybersecurity regulations such as UNECE R155 and R156, accelerating time-to-market for customers, especially OEM customers, in regulated automotive regions.
  • CATARC Certification: The AURIX TC397 is one of the earliest automotive MCUs to receive cybersecurity certification from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC). Infineon aims to achieve CATARC cybersecurity certification also for the TRAVEO T2G CYT2B75x by April 2026. This is a key milestone in the Chinese vehicle security market. CATARC certification and dedicated compliance measures provide manufacturers with the regulatory basis to address the Chinese automotive market.
  • Post-Quantum Cryptography: PQC-readiness is being extended across the entire AURIX TC4x and TRAVEO T2G families. Launched at the end of February 2026, the AURIX TC49 is already PQC-enabled, with further AURIX TC4x derivatives to follow. PQC-ready devices integrate dedicated CPUs, non-volatile memory (NVM), and hardware accelerators to support efficient PQC use cases, such as secured boot and secured over-the-air software updates, in the software-defined vehicle ecosystem.

  • China-specific cryptographic algorithms: These algorithms are implemented in hardware for AURIX TC4x and will be available in the upcoming TRAVEO T2G MCUs, as well as in software for AURIX TC3x and existing TRAVEO T2G MCUs. They enable OEM customers to prepare for future regulatory requirements before they become mandatory.

These measures enable customers to integrate cybersecurity across the entire application lifecycle through certified products, compliant development processes, and future-proof security roadmaps.
