Innovation is deeply embedded in our corporate culture. It extends beyond technical developments to include products, services, and processes. We foster creative freedom, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and value our employees' contributions to driving innovation. Our innovation communities bring colleagues together to generate new ideas and support personal growth – an essential element of our company’s future success.

At the Warstein site, Infineon develops and manufactures a wide range of power semiconductor modules used in rail transportation, hybrid and electric vehicles, wind turbines, photovoltaic systems, industrial drives, and household appliances. Our film on the eMobilityInnoLine – one of three production lines at the site – offers a behind-the-scenes look into cleanroom manufacturing. Using the HybridPACK™ Drive as an example, we showcase the entire production process – from chip assembly to automated packaging. Join us on this fascinating journey through module manufacturing and experience how innovation comes to life.

In 1945, 25 engineers led by young AEG director Gustav Kugler relocated from Berlin to Belecke and founded AEG Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft-Anlagentechnik AG on December 1. Operating out of a hall rented from Siepmann-Werke, they laid the foundation for power electronics at the site.

Today, around 2,200 people are employed at Infineon Technologies AG and Infineon Technologies Bipolar GmbH & Co. KG in Warstein. The site has evolved into a key innovation hub for power semiconductor components and plays a vital role within the Infineon Group.

After many years under the AEG name, eupec GmbH was established in 1990 as a joint venture between AEG and Siemens. In 1996, it became a wholly owned Siemens subsidiary. Following the spin-off of Siemens’ semiconductor division, eupec became a fully owned Infineon company in 1999 and was later fully

integrated into the Infineon Group in 2005. In 2007, the bipolar component production division was spun off into Infineon Technologies Bipolar GmbH & Co. KG, a joint venture with Siemens.

It all began on December 1, 1945, when today's Infineon site in Warstein-Belecke started operations with the production of "electrical items" – as registered with the Warstein municipal office. This marked the beginning of rectifier development and production, which over the years evolved into the manufacturing of bipolar semiconductor products such as thyristors. In the early 1990s, the first high-performance semiconductors with IGBT chips were introduced – and they continue to shape the market today.

We are proud of 80 years of continuous innovation and growth. With the same pioneering spirit and the dedication of our employees and partners, we are committed to continuing this success story as a leading innovation site for power semiconductors.

Warstein is a town where seemingly contrasting elements come together in harmony – nature and recreation, industry and healthcare, history and cultural events. Its rich heritage is reflected in beautifully restored old towns and carefully curated local museums.

Each late summer, Warstein hosts the International Montgolfiade, a hot air balloon festival that captivates visitors from around the world. With over 300 balloons, spectacular mass launches, night glows, and unique balloon shapes, this event is truly unforgettable.

Hikers and cyclists can enjoy the serenity of the region via an extensive network of trails. Don’t miss the panoramic view from the Lörmecke Tower, which stretches as far as the Teutoburg Forest on clear days.

A regional highlight is the Bilstein Valley, featuring a large wildlife park and one of Germany’s most impressive dripstone caves.

In the summer, the nearby Möhnesee, Sorpesee, Alfsee, and Hennesee lakes offer refreshing outdoor experiences. In winter, the ski resorts of Winterberg and Willingen attract winter sports enthusiasts and are renowned for international bobsleigh and ski jumping competitions – and even dog sled races.

Soest and Lippstadt are the most popular cities in the area, offering fast connections to the Ruhr region and a low cost of living

Soest, a historic Hanseatic town, is a hidden gem with more than 600 listed buildings. The pedestrian zone lies at the heart of the city and features a mix of small, owner-run boutiques and well-known retail chains. Regular events such as the Bördetag and Europe's largest inner-city folk festival bring the town to life. Top comedians, musicians, and theater performers take the stage at the "Alter Schlachthof" cultural center and the town hall auditorium.

Lippstadt, the largest town in the Soest district, is often called the "Venice of Westphalia" thanks to its scenic canals and lakes. The Lippe River provides ample opportunities for leisure and water sports. Lippstadt also boasts a vibrant cultural scene with events such as the Word Festival, the Town Square Festival, and open-air performances in the historic abbey ruins. Families benefit from 26 general education schools, four vocational colleges, and degree programs in science, languages, and business.

On June 17, 2023, our Warstein site hosted an unforgettable family festival under sunny skies. With more than 4,100 visitors – a new record – the event was a resounding success. Aligned with our motto “Together for a greener future,” we presented our products and technologies through exciting hands-on activities for all ages.

Infineon is also dedicated to reforesting the woodlands around Warstein, which have been severely damaged by years of drought and bark beetle infestation. In cooperation with WaldLokal gGmbH, we have restored approximately 7 hectares – the equivalent of 8.5 football fields – into climate-resilient mixed forest since 2023. The project is conducted in close collaboration with local forestry authorities to ensure appropriate seedling selection.

Many of our employees have actively participated in the planting efforts and continue to volunteer for a greener future. Their commitment is helping to restore biodiversity and improve the environment in our region.
