At Infineon Dresden, with more than 2,300 employees we operate our most modern and one of the largest manufacturing and technology development centers. In addition to our own employees, nearly 200 external service providers and partners work for us at our location every day.

Infineon Technologies Dresden GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1994 under the name Siemens Microelectronics Center Dresden. With the IPO in 1999 it was renamed to Infineon Technologies Dresden GmbH. Since 1994, more than three billion euros have been invested. In 2014 we celebrated our 20-year location anniversary with our employees and many companions.

Semiconductors on 200 mm wafers

Today, we manufacture more than 400 different products with complex manufacturing technologies based on 200 mm and 300 mm silicon wafers. These serve all four Infineon business divisions: Automotive, Digital Security Solutions, Power Management & Multimarket and Industrial Power Control. We manufacture our customer samples and products in impressive speed and with world class quality: The zero defect culture is firmly anchored within Infineon. In addition to this, we consistently guarantee our customers the highest security standards – which is of essential importance, particularly for security and chip card products.

Innovative semiconductor products on 300 mm wafers

Since 2011 the world’s first high-volume fab for semiconductors based on 300 mm wafers is ramping in Dresden. With the decision to invest several hundred million euros, a new chapter has been opened with massive potential for the location.

The factory of the year 2016 is located in Dresden. Infineon Dresden received the award in the category “securing competitiveness via digitalization“. This award is advertised by the trade magazine Produktion and the management consultancy A.T. Kearney. It is considered to be the toughest benchmark competition for the processing industry in Germany and Europe.
