München, 17. September 2024 – Mit der zunehmenden Digitalisierung des Zahlungsverkehrs ist der Schutz digitaler Identitäten und Transaktionen wichtiger denn je. Neben herkömmlichen kontaktlosen Bezahlkarten sind deswegen biometrische Karten eine vielversprechende Entwicklung und erfreuen sich zunehmender Beliebtheit. Die Infineon Technologies AG bringt nun mit SECORA™ Pay Bio eine Komplettlösung für biometrische Zahlungskarten auf den Markt, die den Spezifikationen von Visa und Mastercard entspricht.
Die Lösung integriert das weiterentwickelte System-on-Chip (SoC) Secure Element SLC39B von Infineon und den Sensor FPC1323 von Fingerprint Cards AB (Fingerprints™) in das Infineon Biometric Coil on Module (BCoM)-Gehäuse und nutzt damit die Vorteile der induktiven Kopplungstechnologie. Die Lösung verwendet Referenzdaten des Fingerabdrucks, die gesichert auf der Karte gespeichert sind, als zweiten Authentifizierungsfaktor und ermöglicht dadurch ein komfortables und vertrauenswürdiges kontaktloses Bezahlen.
„Mit unserer Komplettlösung für biometrische Bankkarten werden die Grenzen von Bezahlkarten weiter verschoben“, sagt Tolgahan Yildiz, Leiter der Produktlinie Trusted Mobile Connectivity and Transactions bei Infineon. „SECORA Pay Bio ermöglicht eine einfach zu implementierende und skalierbare Produktion von robusten und zuverlässigen biometrischen Bezahlkarten mit hohem Durchsatz und einem reibungslosen Kundenerlebnis.“
ABI Research [1] geht davon aus, dass der Markt für biometrische Karten in einem optimistischen Szenario bis 2028 auf 113,3 Millionen Stück wachsen wird. Angekurbelt wird dieser Markttrend durch eine weitere Optimierung des Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnisses, was auch die Herstellbarkeit und die Kosten biometrischer Zahlungskarten einschließt, sowie durch die Verbrauchernachfrage nach einer komfortableren und gesicherten biometrischen Authentifizierung im persönlichen Zahlungsverkehr. Zudem könnten biometrische Bankkarten eine zusätzliche Barriere gegen Betrug nach Verlust oder Diebstahl sowie gegen PIN-Phishing-Betrug bieten.
Biometrische Zahlungslösung mit hervorragender kontaktloser Leistung
SECORA Pay Bio ergänzt die SECORA Pay-Familie von Infineon. Die Lösung integriert den Sensor von Fingerprints und das SLC39B SoC Secure Element von Infineon in einem einzigen Dual-Interface-Gehäuse, dem Infineon Biometric Coil on Module (BCoM). Das SLC39B Secure Element mit integrierter Stromquelle bietet eine große Speicherkapazität und verschiedene Peripheriegeräte sowie eine hervorragende kontaktlose Leistung. Basierend auf induktiver Kopplungstechnologie ohne Kabelverbindung vom BCoM-Modul zur Kartenantenne lässt sich die Herstellungskomplexität drastisch reduzieren und die Robustheit sowie langfristige Zuverlässigkeit der Karte deutlich verbessern. Darüber hinaus kann die Produktion der biometrischen Sensorkarten mit nur geringfügigen betrieblichen Änderungen auf bestehenden Dual-Interface-Kartenproduktionsanlagen erfolgen. Da SECORA Pay Bio sowohl den Spezifikationen von Mastercard als auch Visa entspricht, sind für den Einsatz der BCoM-Technologie keine zusätzlichen Leistungstests erforderlich. Das ermöglicht eine flexible und schnelle Einführung mit hervorragender Leistung und einem reibungslosen Onboarding-Prozess.
Lösung unterstützt zwei neue Verfahren zur Kartenaktivierung
SECORA Pay Bio unterstützt vielfältige Optionen, die Referenzdaten des Fingerabdrucks zu registrieren, darunter spezielle elektronische Hüllen, Smartphone-Apps oder direkt bei der Bezahlung am Lesegerät. Das SECORA Pay Bio Enrollment-Sheet macht hierbei den Prozess per Smartphone so einfach wie nie zuvor. Darüber hinaus handelt es sich um die erste biometrische Zahlungslösung, die den Anlernprozess direkt bei der Bezahlung im Handel unterstützt. Dadurch können Karteninhaber biometrische Zahlungskarten ohne zusätzlichen Aufwand oder Geräte verwenden. Zudem werden bei diesen neuen biometrischen Karten die Fingerabdruck-Referenzdaten mit jeder Zahlungstransaktion trainiert, was das Nutzererlebnis noch weiter verbessert.
Verfügbarkeit
