Two stage LED driver solutions

This scalable reference design containing up to four-channels consists of a cost-effective DCM PFC stage realized by a combo controller ICL5102 that has been designed for LED drivers. Therefore it fulfills excellent power factor and THD values over a wide load range (see diagrams below). For precise current control, as well as deep dimming down to 0.5% and flicker-free light on the secondary side a buck topology such as realized with the ILD8150E.that has a breakdown voltage of 80V ensuring SELV designs with sufficient margin.

This design enables exchangeable feedback via pluggable extension boards on the secondary side, in this case now a high-side buck topology realized with ILD8150E featuring a breakdown voltage of 80V ensuring SELV designs with sufficient margin. For precise current control, as well as deep dimming down to 0.5% and flicker-free light this secondary sideboard comes in two available inductor versions for different frequency operation modes.
