Automotive PSOC™ 4100
Flexible and upward compatible: Introducing the Automotive PSoC™ 4100 product family
The automotive PSOC™ 4100 product family, based on this platform, is a combination of a microcontroller with digital programmable logic, high-performance analog-to-digital conversion, opamp with Comparator mode, and standard communication and timing peripherals.
The PSOC™ 4100 products will be fully upward compatible with members of the PSOC™ 4 platform for new applications and design needs. The programmable analog and digital subsystems allow flexibility and in-field tuning of the design.
The Automotive PSoC™ 4 is a versatile and reconfigurable platform architecture designed for programmable embedded system controllers with an Arm® Cortex®-M0 CPU, and it is AEC-Q100 compliant. It is an ideal solution for automotive HMI systems, combining programmable and reconfigurable analog and digital blocks with flexible automatic routing for reliable capacitive touch-sensing and proximity-sensing solutions, even in harsh automotive environments.
The family offers a wide range of features that reduce total system cost and simplify the design process by integrating programmable analog front ends (AFEs) and programmable digital blocks.
The Automotive PSoC™ 4000 is the smallest member of the family, featuring a 16 MHz Arm® Cortex™-M0 CPU, standard communication and timing peripherals, programmable analog subsystem, and CAPSENSE™ capacitive-sensing technology. The Automotive PSoC™ 4200 and Automotive PSoC™ 4100 families combine Arm® Cortex™-M0 architecture and low-power CAPSENSE™ capacitive sensing with up to 32 KB flash, digital analog, and programmable digital blocks. This series offers compatibility with Automotive Grade A and Grade S temperature ranges.
The Automotive PSoC™ 4 is an AEC-Q100 compliant, scalable, and reconfigurable platform architecture designed for programmable embedded system controllers with an Arm® Cortex®-M0 CPU. Its features include the following:
- CAPSENSE™, which is the industry's best capacitive-sensing solution. It enables a touch user interface with up to 24 I/Os, implements advanced proximity sensing such as wake-on-approach, liquid-level detection, and IR sensor replacement, and prevents false touches caused by liquids.
- SmartSense™ auto-tuning, which speeds up time to market and eliminates the need for manual system tuning.
- Reduced system costs, thanks to programmable digital and analog blocks, CAPSENSE™, and LIN-slave communication.
- Reliable operation in harsh automotive environments, with zero false touches reported by the touch sensors, reduced radiated emissions, and compliance with standard emission and immunity specifications like CISPR 25, ISO 11452, IEC 61967, and IEC 62132.
- Temperature ranges: A Grade (-40 °C to +85 °C), S-Grade (-40 °C to +105 °C), and E-Grade (-40 °C to +125 °C).
- PSoC™ Creator, which enables easy integration of multiple ICs and system interfaces into one PSoC™.
