We will specifically focus on single-stage converter-based OBCs, exploring how they align with these trends. Using our matrix converter demonstrator development as a case study, we will explain the working principle and discuss semiconductor selection requirements. Additionally, you will see how our one-stop-shop supports this trend, not only for power semiconductors but also for all major functional blocks, giving you the freedom to choose and optimize your OBC design according to your specific needs.

  • Get our view on the latest trends in on-board charger (OBC) designs
  • Learn how single-stage converters support these trends by simplifying system structure and reducing part count
  • Gain insights into the working principle of single-stage converters using our work-in-progress matrix converter demonstrator as an example
  • Discover how Infineon's specially tailored power devices perfectly support new single-stage converter topologies
  • Learn how Infineon's one-stop-shop offering provides you with the freedom to choose and optimize your OBC design, beyond just power semiconductors

Application Marketing

Torsten holds degrees in Electrical and Industrial Engineering, with 20+ years of experience in Product and Application Marketing roles across different industries. At Infineon since 2013, initially he has served as a Product Manager in Automotive. Later he focused on offboard DC EV Charging and UPS and as Application Manager he now drives the Go-to-Market activities for Infineons extensive semiconductor portfolio for On-board Chargers and HV-LV DC/DCs.

Application Engineer

Stefan holds M.Sc. in Power Engineering from Technical University of Munich. At Infineon since 2023, he has been working as a system application engineer for automotive power converters such as on-board chargers and HV-LV DC-DC converters. Prior to joining Infineon, he worked at Bosch as a model-based software and system developer with focus on on-board chargers and HV-LV DC-DC converters and at Hilti as a hardware developer with focus on corded power tools.
