Modernize your TV or speaker design by switching out your old barrel or power input connector with a future-proof USB-C connection using our EZ-PD™ BCR solutions. Implementing this solution in an end-product allows the system to be powered by any USB-C compliant power adapter. Our evaluation kits allow you to quickly and easily test the solution and see if it meets the needs and requirements of your design. In fact, there are two kits that can be tested: The EZ-PD™ Barrel Connector Replacement (BCR) PLUS evaluation kit CY4534, and the EZ-PD™ Barrel Connector Replacement (BCR) LITE evaluation kit CY4535. The PLUS variant targets electronic devices that use custom or barrel connectors for power inputs and enables product designers to replace these incompatible connectors with USB-C. It enables USB-PD and the option to program additional parameters with the EZ-PD™ configuration utility. The LITE variant, on the other hand, is the simplest barrel connector replacement device in Infineon’s portfolio of highly integrated, pre-programmed USB-C port controllers. It targets electronic devices using barrel connectors for power, such as speakers, that can be then standardized using USB-C.
