PSOC™ 4100T Plus Low-cost Arm® Cortex®-M0+ solution with next-gen Multi-Sense technology targeted for system control and HMI applications

The PSOC™ 4100T Plus family of Arm® Cortex®-M0+ microcontrollers, combines analog and digital blocks with Infineon’s high-performance Multi-Sense technology, which includes 5th generation CAPSENSE™, Inductive Sensing and Liquid level sensing. The PSOC™ 4100T Plus represents a significant upgrade to the PSOC™ 4 family, offering advanced HMI capabilities through Multi-Sense, enhanced ESD protection and improved clock accuracy.
Infineon's 5th Generation CAPSENSE™ technology offers significant improvements over its predecessors, featuring a 10x higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance while consuming 10x less power. Building on this foundation, the PSOC™ 4100T Plus microcontrollers incorporate advanced inductive sensing capabilities, leveraging a differential and ratio-metric sensing architecture that provides flexibility in terms of sensor inductance and operating frequency. Furthermore, the PSOC™ 4100T Plus microcontrollers also feature a liquid level sensing technology that operates without requiring direct contact with the liquid, making it suitable for use in noisy environments. This technology is also capable of detecting different types of liquids while rejecting foam and residue, thereby enhancing its overall reliability and accuracy.
High memory options, combined with SAR ADC, MCU peripherals and Multi-Sense makes PSOC™ 4100T Plus an ideal MCU for system control plus HMI applications.

About the PSOC™ 4100T Plus
The PSOC™ 4100T Plus is an Arm Cortex-M0+ based microcontroller, featuring 128K flash and 32K SRAM, and equipped with Infineon's advanced Multi-Sense technology, which includes 5th Genetation CAPSENSE for capacitive sensing, Inductive Sensing for touch over metal, Liquid Level Sensing for monitoring fluid levels, and CAPSENSE-based Hover Touch for detecting touch through an airgap. This highly versatile device offers enhanced reliability with 3x ESD improvements compared to other PSOC™ 4 products, as well as a 1% IMO option for improved clock accuracy, supporting system-level synchronous communication. With its system control and HMI capabilities, the PSOC™ 4100T Plus can be used independently as a general-purpose microcontroller unit (MCU), as a specialized human-machine interface (HMI) MCU, or as a single chip solution for system control plus touch HMI, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of applications.
It provides an easy-to-implement upgrade path for PSOC™ 4100S and PSOC™ 4100S Plus based designs to take advantage of the 5th generation CAPSENSE™ and Multi-Sense. Designers can also upgrade from PSOC™ 4000T for more sensor inputs, and/or for higher memory requirements.
5th generation CAPSENSE™
Ultra-low power:
One of the industry’s first always-on touch sensing features enables HMI operation with very low active and standby power consumption, enabling longer battery life on battery-powered products such as wearables and hearables.
Signal-to-noise ratio:
Best-in-class signal-to-noise ratio improves reliability, provides a seamless user experience, a faster refresh rate, and optimizes average power consumption.
Liquid tolerance: Reliable operation under wet and high moisture conditions prevents false activation from a variety of liquids, including highly conductive salty water.
Multi-sense:
Supports a combination of multiple sensing methods and a variety of user interfaces such as touch, slider, force-touch, proximity, finger-tracking, metal touch, hover touch. The Multi-Sense can also be used to design a high resolution liquid level sensor
Advanced proximity interface:
Long distance proximity detection up to 30 cm, proximity sensing with directivity, and proximity gestures through configurable gesture control.
