Who we are

Infineon is one of the world's leading companies in the semiconductor industry. The Infineon Dresden production site was founded in 1994 – at that time still as part of Siemens.

Today, Dresden is one of the most modern and largest locations for production, technology and product development and now employs more than 3,900 people at two sites. This makes Infineon Dresden one of the most important industrial employers in the region.

What sets us apart

Infineon Dresden manufactures over 400 different products based on 200mm and 300mm wafers for all four business units of the company – quickly and with the highest quality. Our products meet the highest security standards – particularly important for automotive electronics as well as security and chip card products.

One location – two adresses

Since July 2023, Infineon Dresden has two addresses: Königsbrücker Straße 180 and Meinholdstraße 2. We ensure the economic success of our company at both locations. Our innovative logistics service center as well as laboratories and office buildings for our Development Center are located on 25,000 square meters in Meinholdstraße.

Part of Silicon Saxony

Infineon Dresden is a member of Silicon Saxony, Europe's most successful microelectronics cluster. As a founding member of the association, Infineon contributes to the fact that a significant proportion of European chip production takes place in Saxony: Every third chip produced in Europe is “Made in Saxony”. The construction of our Smart Power Fab will further increase these capacities in Saxony and Europe.

The high degree of automation is the hallmark of our production lines. We have developed the 200mm line into the world's most highly automated factory. Our 300mm line – the world's first high-volume production line for power semiconductors – was designed from the outset as a fully automated production line.
